The frustration

I've watched dozens of small business owners - including friends and family - lose evenings every month to invoicing. Photo of a receipt here, hand-typed line item there, math validated three times in case the VAT was wrong. The tools that exist either cost a fortune or assume you already speak fluent accountant.

I wanted to see if a single AI agent could do the boring 80% - extract, validate, format, send - and leave the human to just hit “approve.”

The agent

• Extract. Vision model reads a photo or PDF and pulls every line item, supplier, date, currency, and tax line.
• Validate. A second pass checks the math, normalises currency, applies the right tax rate.
• Compose. Branded invoice template renders to PDF; matching email body drafted in the user's tone.
• Ship. One click sends via email; Stripe payment link attached when relevant.

What I learned

Building a one-person SaaS while holding a Staff TAM job teaches you ruthless prioritisation. Every feature has to earn its slot - if it doesn't move time-to-invoice down or accuracy up, it doesn't ship. The customer-success habits that compound here: tight feedback loops, weekly user calls, treating bugs like churn risks.

Next on the roadmap: multi-currency expense reports, accounting-tool integrations, a team plan.
