Case Study · Fortune 500 · Published in Gartner

Seven days to ninety seconds.

A legacy insurance distribution platform was holding a Fortune-500 carrier back from a digital-first market. We led an end-to-end cloud transformation - and policies that used to take 7–10 days started issuing in 90 seconds, on WeChat, in front of 18,000 net-new customers.

The challenge

Issuing a basic policy through the legacy system took 7–10 business days, three handoffs, and a paper signature. In a market where the competition was issuing in minutes through mobile super-apps, every day of latency was a customer walking. The board wanted growth; the platform couldn't deliver it.

What I took away

Big enterprises don't fail at transformation because the technology is hard - they fail because the operating model isn't ready for the technology. The win here came from re-shaping the workflow first, then letting the cloud architecture follow. By the time the migration ran, the business was already measuring itself in the new units.
